To achieve the Zero Routine Flaring (ZRF) Initiative by 2030, here is the list of latest developed strategies to achieve this ambitious goal through Eliminate, Substitute, Reduce, and Recover strategies. Zero Routine Flaring by 2030 Initiative Launched in 2015, the ZRF Initiative commits governments and oil companies, to end routine flaring no later than 2030. As of January 2022, and directly after the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP26, the total number of countries announced their pledges to net zero emission or carbon neutrality reached 136 countries. Also, 234 major cities and 683 major companies announced their pledges to achieve net zero emissions or carbon neutrality.
